10" CRT. The tube was mounted vertically because they did not know how to make short squat CRTs. To get a bigger picture required a longer TV tube. When mounted vertically and using a mirror the cabinet would not be too deep. The Sparton 4900 series television was one of a few mirror in the lid sets produced post war. 37 tubes.
