This is a rare Morrow Radio CM-1 CONELRAD activated AM receiver. (Between 1953 and 1963, all radios sold in the United States were required to have the two CONELRAD frequencies of 640 and 1230 KHz). CONELRAD (Control of Electromagnetic Radiation) was a method of emergency broadcasting to the public of the United States in the event of enemy attack during the Cold War.
