Magnetic core memory is an early form of RAM memory wired with tiny magnetics for each bit. This board is 8k (8000 bytes) x 12 bit. It was used in a DEC PDP8 mini computer. These boards were wired by hand. The original cost was $1 per bit but dropped over time to around 1 cent per bit. DEC is Digital Equipment Corporation.
