The 1940 line of plastic table radios were molded entirely of bakelite including the chassis. A good idea in theory but they were poor quality, a fire hazard, and bad to repair. Zenith recalled all available models and destroyed them. This radio is a wooden cabinet with a plastic chassis. 5 tube. AM only. 110 VAC/DC power.
