This was used as a computer terminal or could be a teletypewriter. It is used to input into a computer and print out the answers. There is also a paper tape reader for rapid program input. Kleinschmidt Labs started in 1931. In 1956 it merged with Smith -Corona and then merged with Manchant Calculating Machine Co. They stopped making teletypewriters in 1979. The military used a lot of Kleinschmidt.
