Before the internet, lots of computer memory, hard drives, or floppy drives, all programs and data were stored on cassette tape. The AC-30 interfaced the computer to a cassette player and was the way programs were loaded onto the SWTPC 6800 computer.
The tapes ran at 300 baud with a 2400Hz tone representing logical one and a 1200Hz tone representing logical zero. SWTPC is Southwest Technical Products Corporation.
