Manufacturer: General Radio
Model Number: Type 107-N
Serial #: 3968
Equipment Description: Variable Inductor
Label Write-up:
A variable inductor consists of two coils that are sections of a sphere, one of which is slightly smaller than the other. The smaller coil is mounted inside the larger so that it may be rotated about a vertical axis to align or contrast the coils.
When the dial reads zero the currents in the two coils are circulating in opposite directions and the inductance is minimal. At 50 the coils are at right angles. At 100 the coils are aligned; the current is going in the same direction for max inductance.
