Label Write-up:
Variable-Pressure Midget Megger. Measures 50 megohms at 500 volts DC. Turn crank at about 160 RPM. This tests the insulation covering of high voltage wires. Nicks in the insulations will lead to shorts to ground. Megger was originally built in England. Biddle was the US distributor. Eventually Biddle started manufacturing these meggers in the US. The first models were built in the 1890's.
