Designed to measure 0.005 to 5 ohms in 5 steps. Each probe has 2 wires: one for current and one for voltage. This way the voltage drop on the probe wiring is eliminated from the measurement.
It was used to check bonding (grounding) on airplanes in WWII by the Air Force. The Shallcross company was later bought out by Boeing.
